Sr. Forensic Architect/Building Envelope Professional

Halliwell Engineering Associates is one of the nation’s leading building envelope consulting practices. We provide independent, expert advice to building owners, institutions and agencies regarding various types of building component and system failures. We are also positioned as a nationally recognized property loss evaluation and claims consulting practice.

We are interested in adding several experienced, entrepreneurial Architects to our team to help us conduct forensic investigations of commercial, institutional, high-rise and residential building failures. These individuals will assist our Clients in the determination, diagnosis and documentation of building defect evaluation and failure causation analysis. The selected individuals will assist in on-site investigations to determine the cause and origin of building damage, will provide detailed verbal and written reporting to the Client and may assist in the process of building restoration.

The ideal candidate will have wide-ranging, Principal level experience in building construction and design. The candidate will have conducted building component failure investigations along with other varieties of building envelope deficiency analysis. The candidate will also have had practical exposure to rehabilitation design methodologies along with experience in the repair of exterior wall cladding systems, roofing and fenestration systems. The ability to serve as an expert witness during litigation is a plus.

Requirements: BArch or MArch degree in architecture, Minimum of 8 years experience with building envelope systems/evaluations, Architectural registration mandatory, NCARB certification preferred, Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, Approximately 35% travel expected.
