Senior Electrical Engineer -

A focus on sustainable design practices and promotion of innovative techniques are prime factors in our success. We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with 10+ years experience in project delivery for electrical building and site design. Sustainable design is a major focus of this practice and candidates must have an interest and a working knowledge of Green Design techniques for electrical systems. Healthcare and laboratory design is another focus of this practice and candidates must have an interest and a working knowledge of the specialized electrical systems associated with these facilities. Responsibilities: Candidates for this position will possess the following attributes:• Ability to supervise and grow a team of engineers, designers and technicians;• Passion for sustainable and green design and a dedication to the promotion of innovative technologies including low energy lighting / control systems and renewable / alternative energy systems.• Ability to plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate detailed design work. • Experience with power distribution, control, communication, and lighting design including evaluation of existing power and control systems, electrical specifications, lighting and load calculations.• Capacity to perform all technical work, review work, engineer larger/complex projects, select systems and equipment, and to oversee standards and production;• Good management skills to maintain schedules and budgets on all group assignments;• Ability to maintain overall teamwork quality;• Willingness and capacity to work on business development activities;• Ability to perform client presentations, interface with clients and assist in developing a business base with new clients. Qualifications: This is a dynamic, "hands-on" role for a person who enjoys accepting responsibility in a fast-paced, team-oriented, client-driven environment. Candidates should be self-starters able to make an immediate contribution to the team. Other qualifications include:• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering; • Professional Engineer Registration; • LEED TM Accredited Professional preferred;• Proven effective team leadership and project management experience;• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and equipment;• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;• Client contacts in the San Francisco Bay Area desirable Stantec is searching for an enthusiastic individual with initiative who is seeking a challenging opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects.
