The best person for this position must be knowledgeable of California Building Codes, State agency (DSA, OPSC, CDE, and DTSC – for school projects) procedures, have a thorough understanding of the project phases from project set-up through design, governing agency review and approval procedures, bidding, construction and construction close-out, have a basic understanding of all the disciplines involved in the design of a building including building materials and systems. This person must also have a thorough understanding of construction documents, as well as building materials and construction methods.  The successful candidate must be detail oriented and have strong math skills.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·          Responsibility for developing CAD drawings for schematic design, design development and construction documents as well as the coordination with all disciplines

·          Consult with designers and architects to fulfill the expectation of each client

·          Reviewing documents prepared by others and developing “redline” sets for correction

·          Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows

·          Good verbal and written communication skills

·          Being detail oriented

·          Keeping a fast pace

·          Being a self-starter that can handle multiple projects with supervision by a Project Manager or Project Architect

·          Other duties as assigned by Director of Architecture and Project Architect

 

Computer Programs 

·          AutoCAD ADT 2006

·          ArchiCAD 10 – a plus but not req’d

·          Revit 2009

·          Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)

 

Education and Experience

·          Minimum 7 years CADD drafting experience

·          Formal CAD System or Auto CAD software training or

·          Certificate from a technical school

·          Associates or Bachelors degree is a benefit but not required

·          Minimum of five years of commercial and/or education project experience
