Senior Corporate Interior Designer –Dallas, TX
We are seeking a Senior Corporate Interior Designer to lead our design team in the Dallas, TX area. This person will be responsible for educating and mentoring the design team while elevating the standards of the Interior Design practice at NELSON. We are seeking an exceptional interior designer with broad experience and the ability to play a leading, highly visible and hands-on role in design, project management, marketing, public relations, and administration.
Qualified individuals will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, a client-centered focus, the ability to multi-task, a team player mentality, an outgoing personality and a strong commitment to delivering world class service. This is a rare opportunity for a rising star to become part of an established team and define his or her unique position as a designer in the Dallas market.
Major Responsibilities:
§ Lead, mentor, develop and streamline the design team, the design process and elevate the design standards for NELSON’s Southeast operation.
§ Interface with and actively participate in NELSON’s Design Consortium led by John Nelson, Principal of Design, and composed of the firm’s design leaders
§ Develop business opportunities in the Dallas area based on his or her previous relationships and those of NELSON
§ Be the face of the firm in design organizations and client forums such as IIDA, ASID, and CORENET
§ Interact with high visibility clients on major commissions
§ Serve as an office representative during trade or industry conferences
Requirements:Minimum of 15 years experience.Prior success leading significant projects for Fortune 100 companies preferredImpeccable presentation skills and previous success winning significant accountsPrevious success leading a collaborative team in a dynamic environment
· The ability to motivate and supervise the work of others
· A thorough working knowledge of programming, design and documentation processes, procedures and standards
· The ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of situations and issues concurrently
· An encyclopedic knowledge of products materials, furniture, construction methodology, industry practices and their application as an integrated process
· The ability to evaluate and interpret program data to extrapolate the project requirements and client’s goals and culture
· The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
· A comprehensive knowledge of building codes, regulations and The Americans with Disabilities Act
· Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skillsPrior publication in trade journals and speaking engagements at industry conferences
· Leadership positions within IFMA, IIDA, or ASID NCIDQ and LEED AP Certification preferred.
