Job
Inspections of erosion and sediment control measures at highway construction sites in Tennessee.
Field investigation and documentation, and report writing.
Interaction with clients and client contractors/subcontractors.
Preparation and/or review of stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs) for construction sites.
Other tasks will include scientist/engineer related work, as appropriate by applicant’s background and discipline, such as CERCLA, RCRA and other Water Resources, Environmental and Geotechnical related work.
Weekly fieldwork in Tennessee will be required, some travel will be required.
Knowledge
B.S. in Civil/Environmental/Agricultural Engineering, Geology, Agriculture or related field is required.
The successful applicant will have a strong work ethic, a sound technical foundation, and a desire for professional registration as soon as he/she is qualified.
A minimum of one year of experience in erosion and sediment control is required.
Ideally, the applicant will be a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control in Training (CPESC-IT) and have successfully completed TDEC’s Fundamentals of Erosion & Sediment Control course. Should these conditions not apply, the applicant must be ready to obtain CPESC-IT certification and successfully complete the TDEC course immediately upon hire.
Experience with Excel, Microstation, AutoCad, or ArcView is a plus.
Knowledge of highway construction plans and SWPPPs is a plus.
