Project Director of Architecture- Dallas, Texas
NELSON is currently seeking a talented teammate to serve as a Project Director of Architecture in our Dallas, Texas location. Must possess strong project management skills, have a proven track record in successfully managing multiple projects and/or clients simultaneously. Ideal candidates will possess the following:
• Possess a strong understanding of design and documentation process, professional practice and standards
• Ability to evaluate and interpret program data to understand project requirements, clients goals and culture.
• Ability to solve problems and manage a variety of issues concurrently.
• Ability to plan, supervise and coordinate the development of design and construction documents.
• Ability to develop budget hours by phases for production of work and organize efforts of the team to adhere to budget.
• Possess a thorough knowledge of architectural detailing and construction methodology
• Ability to review and coordinate engineering documentation and the work of other consultant disciplines to assess compliance with the design concept.
• Possess knowledge of products, materials, construction techniques, industry practices and their application as an integrated process.
• Understands the components of construction drawings and specifications and the ability to review documentation prepared by others.
• Possess knowledge of building codes and The Americans with Disabilities Act.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to motivate and supervise the work of others
• Possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and graphic communication skills
• Demonstrated literacy with word-processing and CAD software
• Possess excellent organizational skills
• Ability to utilize AutoCAD and three dimensional/presentation applications along with project management and scheduling software programs
• Ability to investigate/explore LEED certification for client initiated projects
• Maintain and uphold quality standards for technical and design documents
Requirements:
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
Registration with a professional license to practice architecture in Texas
Experience:
10-15 years of Project Management experience in a corporate workplace environment. "Groud Up" Commercial/office building project work is preferred.
