PROJECT / CONSTRUCTION MANAGER - K through 12 Projects

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

Project/Construction Manager: Manage construction projects to include scope and budget development, oversight on the design phase, assistance with bidding process, and management of the construction phase to include quality control site visits and coordination of project administrative documents (RFIs, Submittals, Change Orders, etc.).  K through 12 experience required.

 

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:

• Preparation of project scopes, budgets, and schedules • Development of preliminary studies, cost estimates, and contract documents • Monitoring project schedules to ensure projects are on time and within budget • Review and validate invoices • Review of contract amendments and change orders; provide corrective measures • Coordination and supervision of outside consultants’ schedules • Review of contract drawings to ensure designs are of high professional caliber and economically sound in design concept • Construction site visits and monitoring of Contractual work 

QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications for the position are as follows: • A degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related fields • Registration as a professional engineer or architect –Preferred • Minimum 5 years of progressive project engineering and/or project management experience, including scope and work program development; development of project funding; budget and schedule development and management; coordination of multidisciplinary teams to execute the project work; evaluation, coordination and resolution of legal, political and regulatory issues related to project development; procurement and management of professional services and construction contracts for project development • Experience in construction cost estimating, engineering designs, specification writing and coordination • Experience in management of multi-discipline engineering teams and consultants • Experience in the phasing and scheduling of engineering and construction projects • Familiarity with management concepts and ability to apply concepts to a team of professionals and contractors • Experience with effective negotiating, consensus building and problem solving skills GENERAL INFORMATION This is an outstanding career opportunity to join an award-winning, multi-discipline engineering firm located in Irvine, California with strong growth potential, and the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging projects in Southern California.
