Project Accountant

EDAW Inc., a world leader in Urban Design, Community Planning, Landscape Architecture and Environmental Services has an immediate opening for a Project Accountant in our New York office.

Duties:
Manage and maintain project database for new projects, change orders, fee revisions, and completed projects. Work closely with Project Managers and Business Manager to ensure projects are accurately tracked for cost, revenue, and estimates to complete. Prepare monthly invoices on all projects ensuring compliance with contract provisions. Follow up with Project Mangers regarding Billing Drafts. Maintain all Project Accounting Files. Run and distribute Aged A/R by Client report on Monday of Week 1 of each month Complete the monthly WIP Report. Enter A/R comments in Vision. Maintain billing rate tables in vision, ensuring compliance with contract provisions. Compile any required backup for project invoices. Complete weekly Labor Transfers, according to Labor Transfer policy. Assist Business Manager in monitoring receivables for timely collection. Maintain register of all incoming payments in billing file. Prepare consultant pay requests as needed. Prepare A/R status report for Project Managers and Business Manager. Assist in collecting outstanding accounts receivable as directed by the Business Manager. Works closely with the Business Manager to ensure that project updates are jointly monitored. For Project Accounting deadlines, comply with the Firmwide Accounting Calendar located on ED. Performs special projects as assigned by Business Manger. The successful candidate must be organized with excellent attention to detail. Have the ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet strict deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.

Experience Requirements:5-7 years experience in Project Accounting is required. Experience using Deltek Vision Accounting program is a plus. Prior A&E experience is preferred.

Education Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance a plus.
