Working with a high degree of self direction, you will support Project Managers and Field Supervisors through pre-filing, filing, research, permit, approvals and variance processes. You will be accountable for the timely attendance of Building Department appointments with plan examiners, securing group task approvals from same, and compiling/maintaining the complete approval package for projects.

This includes preparing submissions and accompanying job tracking sheets, maintaining a list of filed jobs, checking daily for disapproved jobs, organizing pre-filing tickets and walk-in lists, securing folders prior to appointments, and safeguarding all paperwork, drawings and files (including microfilming and perforating documents, and assigning BIS numbers.)

To qualify, you must be capable of effectively prioritizing your daily workload and communicating status to superiors, including relaying any encountered problems. You will need a Bachelor’s degree; two plus year of experience in real estate, construction or expediting; and strong computer skills (including MS Office, Internet, email and database software). Strong time and project management talents are essential.  Prior Violation Dismissals and NJ building code experience are desired.  Driving will be required on a daily basis so you should be equipped with a valid driver’s license and your own vehicle.
