EDAW Inc., a world leader in Landscape Architecture, Planning, and Environmental Services has an immediate opening for a Network Administrator in our Alexandria office.

Duties:IT Services Provide hardware and software support for the local area network, servers, workstations, print devices, peripherals, phone system, and backup policies. Under the guidance of regional IT manager; install, configure, deploy, maintain, and support servers, workstations, laptops, printers, peripherals, telecom devices, and related software to assist with the production and business requirements of the local office. Work with the Global License Manager to maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all IT related software assets utilized by the local office. Perform backups and handling of backup tapes for data protection and disaster recovery purposes. Asset / Facilities Management Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all IT related hardware assets to include, but not limited to: servers, workstations, laptops, and peripherals utilized by the local office.

Training and Leadership:Provide training and leadership to office staff regarding technology and its integration into the practice. Provide a level of service that will allow individuals and the office to concentrate on fulfilling our clients’ needs. Continue to educate self on current technologies related to job role by reading periodicals and websites, attending seminars, participating in user group forums, etc.

Required Skills:
The qualified candidate should possess a working knowledge of IT-related hardware and software. Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential along with the ability to effectively work with technical and non-technical staff. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree. 2-4 years experience in the field or in a related area. Support knowledge of Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Office products, and Active Directory. Organizational, time-management and follow-up skills. Working knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite, Cisco routers and switches. Customer service orientation. Excellent communication and writing skills are required.

Cell phone support (Blackberry, Windows Mobile) MCSE, A+ or other certifications Dell Certified Familiarity with Symantec Ghost Imaging software IP phone experience Wireless access point security knowledge
