Manager of Business Development

Global product development consultancy is seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to join the Chicago office as Manager of Business Development reporting to the Director of Strategy and Business Development.

This key management role will operate within the organization's product development firm structure with the main goal of directing and ensuring the continued business growth through the identification and qualification of potential clients, and the strategic planning and relationship management of ongoing client program efforts. This role requires an individual who demonstrates superior consulting knowledge and has a polished, consultative delivery style appropriate for establishing trust and confidence in potential clients.

Responsibilities:

• The ability to prospect, identify, make contact with, and develop strategic relationships with key decision making client management personnel as relates to outsourcing product development programs.

• The creation of quality proposals to address the identified, qualified and specific needs of the client and drive new business into the firm.

• The general account management support of ongoing product development programs including, client liaison and communication, strategic consultation, timeline management, identification and timely response to all program scope changes, risk management assessment, and the quality of the deliverable and the effective delivery and presentation of the work.

• Liaison with the research, design, engineering, and manufacturing entities of the firm to help identify and address any problem area’s, provide direction, and offer any assistance that may be required to accomplish the mission for the completion of the projects.

• Assist in the identifying, managing, and supporting, all product development and manufacturing opportunities with Nypro, Radius’ parent company

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of demonstrated, consultative business development expertise with a product development firm or other professional consulting services firm

• Excellent oral, written, negotiation, and presentation skills

• Ability to recognize and communicate Radius’ value proposition in building client brand value and market leadership

• Ability to close business and maintain mutually beneficial client relationships

• Proactive, self directed individual with the ability to operate with minimal direction

• Team player

• Strategic thinker, logical and methodical, results driven.

• Must have presence, credibility and be able to stand up and effectively engage clients and others to present capabilities, findings, deliverables, and proposals.
