Junior Mechanical Engineer
This position will work closely with Project Managers, Project Architect, Electrical Engineers and Sr. Mechanical Engineer. There will be occasional fieldwork with minimal travel requirements.
Candidate will: Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. May be the secondary contact with clients. Works with general supervision. Receives specific guidelines, working within defined standards and specifications. Exercises judgment in selecting and interpreting information with review by a junior or intermediate level engineer. Prepares mechanical construction drawings for Mission Critical Facilities in conjunction with an architectural, structural and electrical design team Prepare designs for ductwork, refrigerant piping, plumbing, sanitary sewer, fuel oil delivery piping, clean agent fire protection, and sprinklers based on specific and general level direction. Document progress/results though the preparation of memos, minutes and reports as a record of events. Assist in conducting site visit surveys of buildings for the purposes of collecting design information related to mechanical equipment, fire suppression, generator fuel piping, and BAS systems as they relate to telecommunications and data center facility design. Prepares field information documentation of site visit surveys. Assist in review of shop drawings and equipment submittals for compliance with facility construction document requirements. Assist in providing field construction administration support (inspections, punch list generation, project close-out). Adheres to corporate quality control and assurance processes for all mechanical design work in the local office. Prepares mechanical engineering analyses for projects to include duct sizing, HVAC distribution, and flow calculation. Familiar with NFPA and ASHRE standards. Bachelors degree AutoCAD proficiency is required Experience in data centers, pharmaceutical clean rooms or telecommunications switch centers a plus 1 to 5 years experience
