Human Resources Director

The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading the Human Resources function including staffing, training and development, employee relations, compensation, policies and procedures, benefits and developing HR strategy. 

 

Position Responsibilities

Act as senior level advisor on human resources issues to management and all level of employees throughout the company.  Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and the employees in order to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues.

 

Participate in the development of the company plans and programs as a strategic partner but particularly from the perspective of the impact on people.  Translate the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans.

 

Develop staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the company for positions of responsibility.  Identify appropriate and effective external sources for candidates for all levels within the company.

 

Manage / develop progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance and to provide programs which utilize an employee and company partnership for the short and long-range health and welfare protection of the employees.

 

Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce human resources policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the company.

 

Maintain knowledge of HR policies, programs, laws and issues. Understand the differences of domestic and international policies and programs and coordinate the integration of all such programs.

 

Manage other areas such as relocation, employee communication, immigration, employee safety and health and community relations.

 

Education, experience and skills required:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, or a related field 

Eight to Ten years experience in Human Resources Management, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Background in employment law and other government compliance regulations

Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues

Knowledge of sound techniques in all aspects of personnel management

Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations or government law

Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents 

Ability to effectively present information to top management, verbally and in writing

Ability to develop long-term plans and programs and to evaluate work accomplishments

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees, and the general public
