Forensic Architect

Thornton Tomasetti, Inc., an international leader in building design and technology, seeks a talented Forensic and/ or Exterior Wall Architect for its New York office. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 5 years of experience in the field of Technical Architecture, Exterior Wall Design/ Forensic Consulting.

 

Requirements:

 

1. Master’s or professional degree in Architecture.

2. Strong technical and detailing skills.

3. Excellent communications skills.

4. Excellent report writing skills.

5. Ability to efficiently execute forensic and other building investigations.

6. Ideal candidate will be someone who is either licensed or in the process of taking the ARE.

 

Architectural and forensic experience in the following areas preferred:

 

1. Architectural technical design experience with projects of major complexity.

2. Exterior wall and curtain wall consulting experience.

3. Developing details for exterior wall and roofing waterproofing.

4. Familiarity with IBC, ADA and other Building Codes.

5. ASTM testing of exterior walls for air and water infiltration and mock up testing.

6. Investigation of exterior walls for leaks and other performance issues.

7. Investigation of existing building structures with problems or failures.
