Facilities Planner

The New York County District Attorney’s Office is currently seeking a Facilities Planner to work in its Facilities Design Unit.  The Facilities Design Unit is responsible for supporting day-to-day operational requests for office renovations.  Facilities Design is tasked with providing and managing the professional space planning, programming, design, construction management, overseeing inspection, space fit-out of all construction, expansion and renovation projects.

Responsibilities includes directing design and project management, quality management and control, review and understanding technical content of construction documents, project delivery, general unit staff management and mentoring.  Additional responsibilities include coordinating and cooperating with other internal departments to ensure efficiency and productivity for planning of projects and services. 

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering with a minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in a related field.  Facilities design, construction management and site supervision preferred.  Knowledge of AutoCAD 2005 (demonstration of proficiency will be part of the interview process), Microsoft Project, Windows 2000 and higher, and Microsoft Office essential.  Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills are required.
