Electrical Engineer (Senior)
This position will work closely with Project Managers and Project Architect. There will be occasional field work. Minimal travel requirements.
To work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgement within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. May be the primary contact with some clients.
Works with general supervision. Receives specific guidelines, working within defined standards and specifications. Exercises judgement in selecting and interpreting information. May supervise staff. Prepares electrical construction drawings in conjunction with an architectural, structural and mechanical design team Prepare designs for electrical power distribution, standby power distribution, lighting, lighting protection and telecommunication/data center grounding Documents study progress/results through the preparation of memos, minutes and reports as a record of events Assist in conducting site visit surveys of buildings for the purposes of collecting design information related to electrical service, fire alarm, grounding and lighting protection as they relate to telecommunications/data center facilities design Prepares field information documentation of site visit surveys Assist in reviews of shop drawings and equipment submittals for compliance with telecommunications facilities construction document requirements Assist in providing field construction management support (inspections, punch list generation, project close-out) Adheres to corporate quality control and assurance processes for all electrical design work in the local office Prepares electrical engineering analysis for projects to include voltage drop calculations, photometric lighting calculations, panel load calculations per NEC 220-87 Familiar with NFPA 70 National Electrical Code General familiarity with NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm Code, NFPA 110Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems, NFPA 780 Standard for the Installation of Lighting Protection Systems Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering PE designation/NCEES established 10+ years of experience
