Diffusion Equipment Engineer

This equipment engineering position is within the Beaverton, Oregon semiconductor factory in support of a production environment.  The candidate will be assigned to the installations, start-up, upgrade, and sustaining of both horizontal and vertical furnaces, as well as various supporting equipment. Typical assignments will involve improving tool reliability and cost of ownership, as well as being directly involved in “long down” situations. The candidate will work closely with shift technicians, providing technical support, training and functional preventive maintenance documents. Efforts will be coordinated with shift maintenance personnel for continuous improvement of equipment Candidate will be tasked with the collection and analysis of various forms of data and charts and be able to identify and establish action plans to resolve the issues. As such, the candidate will be considered a “tool owner”, working in conjunction with the production and process engineering counterparts. The candidate will collect and maintain appropriate data and information relevant to the above, in support of upgrade justifications, progress reports and timelines and purchase requirements. The candidate must be experienced with project management and will be expected to track and meet deadlines as well as being a team member to solve problems and implement solutions.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor degree, preferred. Applicants with an Associate degree and ample supporting experience in vacuum and electromechanical or electronics may be considered. Five years of experience in a semiconductor factory with diffusion furnaces or other CVD type equipment, with preference given to direct equipment experience, including: ASM A400 and TEL Alpha 8 Vertical furnaces Thermco or ASM horizontals. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills as well as written and oral communication skills.
