CONTROLLER

WARREN, NJ

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

 

· Oversee the maintenance, activity, and integrity of the Financial  Accounting System;

· Manage the accounting process to coordinate billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and general journal entries to produce the monthly financial statements;

· Performs cash flow analysis, budgeting and forecasting

· Performs monthly reconciliation of bank and general ledger accounts;

· Prepare/generate month-end and year-end cost of sales reports for management;

· Prepare and generate monthly/quarterly/annual P&L reports for management;

· Prepare daily bank deposits and monthly bank reconciliations;

· Facilitate and maintain relationship with bank and negotiations with outside vendors

· Prepare financial and management reporting, monthly accruals, and general account ledger analysis and financial analysis

· Interact with outside accounting agencies to compile financials and taxation documents;

· Coordinate annual audits and interim reviews with the outside auditors;

· Oversee insurance brokerage financial operations;

· Review and provide processes for payroll;

· Responsible for the daily management of accounting staff

· Provides leadership, mentoring, and career development for direct reports

· Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

· CPA a plus

· 7-10 +  years of experience in Accounting in a small to medium size relevant business

· B.S. in Accounting or Finance;

· Excellent oral and written communication;

· Organizational skills are a must;

· Knowledge of financial software a must;

· Must be proficient in MS Office, Outlook, and specifically Excel;

· Complete discretion required to handle confidential and sensitive  information; 

· Must be proactive and multi-task oriented and possess a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

 

 Desired Skills/Knowledge:

· Strong knowledge of Deltek or other Financial Project Performance Software a plus.
