Bottoms Technical Designer

As the Technical Designer, will be responsible for creating technical spec packages and managing the technical life for a brand(s) from conception to delivery to ensure it stays true to the designer's vision. Responsible for the day to day functions of the Technical Design department. RESPONSIBILITIES Â· Creates technical specification packages in Web PDM to standardize block measurements and construction requirements of a brand· Input formal comments in Web PDM for the vendors to understand how to proceed with production· Conducts live model fittings with the designer to evaluate the fit and communicate with the vendor· Reviews PP samples for workmanship and enters comments in Web PDM for vendors· Works with agent's pattern makers to make sure that drawing specs match pattern specs· Provides technical assistance and support to vendors/ contractors/ customers· Reviews private label technical packages, fit samples and relates comments back to the agent· Analyzes fits periodically to ensure that they are consistent with the brand's competition· Performs related duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS  Â· B.A. Apparel Design or Apparel Production· 5+ Years experience as a Technical Designer· Strong written and verbal communication skills· Skill in creating technical specification packages for apparel manufacturers· General knowledge of apparel production process from conception to delivery, domestic and overseas, and how it relates to each department· Knowledge of apparel construction, sample making and bulk production· Knowledge of pattern making and grading· Ability to analyze fittings and propose solutions to vendors· Ability to apply technical knowledge to various apparel categories, brands· Proficient with computer software programs: Microsoft Outlook, Web PDM, Illustrator, Excel· Ability to organize time effectively to multi-task and meet various, strict deadline dates.
