Position Details - AutoCAD Detailer/Designer Position Description:

We currently have an opening for an AutoCAD Detailer/Designer in our Salt Lake City, Utah office.
Brief description of job functions as currently performed: To produce mechanical and structural detail fabrication drawings for water/wastewater treatment equipment. Detail to scale layouts of shop fabrication drawings and checking of the same.
Description of key responsibilities: Take instructions from several co-workers. Communicate current work load and estimate time for creating drawings. Make changes to existing drawings according to mark-ups. Keep work area clean and organized.
Required special knowledge, skills and abilities: Production oriented, self directed and motivated. Strong math skills (geometry/trigonometry). Ability to see three dimensional parts in two dimensions. Key member of the project design team - working closely with checker, project managers and sales personnel. Drafting using AutoCAD and experience with version 2009 preferred.
Preferred special knowledge, skills and abilities: Working knowledge of AISC steel manual. Shop experience, (layout/welding/fabrication/piping) desired. Pro-Engineer, Excel and Inventor knowledge highly desired.
Education/experience required: Two year associates degree in design and drafting. Three to five years minimum experience in drafting.
