*Architectual Designer*

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The Architectural Designer will be the primary design representative on a project team and must function as the design team leader. The Designer is responsible for initiating the design input of all phases which best meets the requirements of the clients program or brief, the detailed development of the design, as well as, the follow through or design input during the preparation of construction drawings.

Responsibilities

Review design solution for compliance with building codes and zoning. Perform calculations including: floor area, volume, and plan efficiency to be confirmed in collaboration with the Project Architect. Perform zoning studies to illustrate planning alternatives. Lead and manage the design team towards a cohesive and rational design solution Work with Project Manager and Project Architect to monitor limits of project budgets and resources. Review contract drawings for design conformance. Resolve con-conformance of design to budget, technology and construction sequencing issues.

Qualifications

Degree in Architecture from an accredited institution Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in an architectural firm A demonstrated understanding of the architectural process from the proposal and contract negotiations through contract administration. A demonstrated knowledge of architecture, technical detailing and construction. Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience with sustainable design and LEED accreditation preferred Knowledge of AutoCAD
