ARCHITECT

Deliver complete, accurate and coordinated project plans, specifications and construction documents within time and budget parameters while satisfying client, building code and contractual obligations. Certify documents as required. Develop and communicate to other discipline team members: overall project goals and constraints including client objectives, design criteria, construction and design budget parameters and schedule requirements. Interact and communicate effectively and professionally with other team members, the client and external agencies. Assure execution of and assist with quality control activities for all architectural and engineering elements on a project. Maintain, organize and archive all project related documents. Perform construction administration tasks including shop drawing review, change order preparation and field problem resolution. Develop/direct/coordinate guidelines for documentation techniques and procedures. Participate in marketing presentations. Coordinate project technical assignments. Prepare technical presentation materials and lead presentation to Owner.

Advanced knowledge of project design and construction documentation and construction materials; intermediate knowledge of CADD and word processing tools. Advanced spreadsheet skills required. Basic knowledge of 3D computer modeling and graphic design. Minimum 4 years experience in specialized market segment. Previous supervisory experience and professional registration required. NCARB Certification required.

Experience on all phases and aspects of large scale projects required. Advanced knowledge of project design and construction documentation production and construction materials, CADD, graphic skills, presentation and communication skills. Advanced word processing and spreadsheet skills. Basic knowledge of 3D computer modeling and graphic design. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Assist internal teams and external customers in understanding short and long-term facility and planning needs, research and develop state-of-the-art programming/planning processes. Conduct site and program analysis. Facilitate program development with project team. Coordinate project planning assignments. Prepare planning presentation materials and lead presentation to Owner. Participate in marketing presentations.

Detailed understanding of various regulatory building codes; working knowledge of current construction materials and methods; thorough knowledge of design production techniques, including computer software and AutoCAD for drawing review and schematic level tasks.

Responsible to the Customer Segment Leader for the delivery of a successful project. A successful project must include the following three elements: 1) The client must be satisfied; 2) The project must meet the original planned project profit goals; 3) We must be proud of our work. Also responsible for successful client relationships with the goal to win more work from long term customer relationships. Understanding of all tasks associated with design, management, planning and direction of projects and construction document preparation. Post graduate experience in the Architectural or Interior Design profession. Experience on all phases and aspects of a project desirable. Basic knowledge of project design and construction documentation production; knowledge of construction materials, CADD, word processing skills, 3D computer modeling (desired), graphic design and effective communication. Intermediate design and production skills required.

Works in a self-directed manner in all aspects of the building design process on small to moderate scale projects or small to moderate components of large scale projects within an established budget, schedule, site and programmatic requirements.

Assists in all aspects of the building design process including preparation of presentation materials, model building, programming analysis, schematic design, design development, contract documents, rendering and construction administration activities as directed by the production leader. Assists with programming analysis. May mentor less experienced staff.
