TPS BUSINESS PROCESS ENGINEER

Monsanto is passionate in the use of science and technology to innovate agriculture. Monsanto scientists are conducting the research and development to revolutionize plant breeding and biotechnology. The Technology Pipeline Solutions (TPS) team within IT works directly with the Monsanto scientists to develop software applications enabling these research and development efforts. The accepted candidate will join the emerging field of IT systems informatics to play a key role in analyzing and delivering breakthrough science in high throughput R&D platforms for Monsanto.

The Business Process Engineer will have responsibility for detailed process mapping and predictive event-based simulation modeling of research processes in order to aide key decision making. Responsibilities will include identifying and assessing system improvement and business value opportunities within information technology systems. The successful candidate will work closely with the TPS Management Team, Business Analysts/Functional Architects and liaisons towards achieving operational excellence in Monsanto's growing Technology organization.

Specific responsibilities include understanding the specific steps of key processes, modeling these processes and analyzing options to develop recommendations to appropriate leadership teams for implementation.

Skills/Experience:
Masters in Engineering or Plant Sciences plus at least 5 years of experience in operations management, continuous improvement, process engineering or equivalent is required. Masters in Business Administration or demonstrated proficiency with financial analyses and experience in an agricultural, industrial biotechnology, pharmaceutical or manufacturing setting is preferred. Experience in applying process optimization tools and methodologies within a research environment is highly desirable.

The candidate must possess:
Proficiency in using simulation modeling software
Passion for continuous improvement; Six Sigma Green/Black Belt experience
Strong analytical skills
Demonstrated leadership capabilities
Ability to work effectively and independently in a highly matrixed organization
Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to express complex business and scientific concepts in a clear manner
