Position Summary:This position is accountable for traditional merchandising responsibilities (distribution, display, and stock management). Recommends set-ups and merchandising (racks, displays) and suggests/writes orders at store level. Typically calls on and makes recommendations to grocery supervisors and small, local customers within their assigned geography. The goal of this position is to achieve and maintain maximum retail distribution, proper product space and positioning, and effective execution of retail and promotion programs.  Essential Duties:1. Check code dates on processed meats and confirms retail prices.

2. Ensure all retail stores have the proper Farmland processed items on the shelves in order to increase product distribution.

3. Ensure all retail stores have the proper private label processed items on the shelves in order to increase private label distribution.

4. Call on assigned stores on a weekly basis.

5. Communicate product and specification changes to the Meat Department manager in order to improve and maintain communication with any marketing programs.
 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, and two to four years related experience and/or training.

Knowledge of Spreadsheet, Word Processing, and Sales software.


Planning, organization, and execution skills


Strong oral and written language skills.


Strong decision-making and problem solving skills.


Ability to travel 75% of the time

Must be willing to relocate in the future
