We are seeking an enthusiastic RESEARCH ASSOCIATE to join a dynamic, diverse team at our Woodland, CA location who are working to identify and introduce valuable new traits into vegetable crops. This position is an opportunity to be part of a trait development-plant breeding cross functional team working on yield improvement in vegetables. Preferred candidates will have experience with field and laboratory work; skill in designing experiments, and collecting and analyzing data; and ability to track and manage complex projects.  Experience with linkage mapping and quantitative genetics is also desirable.

The successful candidate will possess:
- M.S. degree/5 years or B.S. degree/7 years of research experience in genetics, plant breeding or related field.
- Self-motivated creative person able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to track and manage complex projects.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Comfort with field, greenhouse and laboratory work.

Desired Experience/Skills:
- Genetics / Plant Breeding
- Statistical analysis,
- MS office programs (Word, Excel, Access),
- Web based databases,
- Basic knowledge of molecular biology protocols (DNA extraction, PCR, electrophoresis, primer design).
- Experience with vegetable crops is desirable, but not required.
- Some travel to field trials
- Hours: 40 per week.
