Portfolio and Supplier Manager – Minneapolis, MN

Role Purpose and Accountabilities:

 

This role is accountable for managing IS portfolios, budgets, and suppliers in Syngenta IS.  Specifically:

 Ensure the alignment of the IS budget with the overall financial plan and Syngenta business objectives.Manage and develop healthy, value-adding relationships with IS suppliers while ensuring that contracts meet Syngenta’s needs. Effectively communicate and coordinate with regional and/or global portfolio, budget and supplier management stakeholders and ensure that processes are being followed.Support Service managers in their work with suppliers.Ensure that IS suppliers are engaged in continuous improvement activities.Ensure the alignment of the IS Portfolio with the overall financial plan and business objectives.  Ensure that all portfolio projects are prioritized, funded, and resourced.Management and oversight of Portfolio Review Boards. Effectively communicate with key stakeholders including portfolio review baords, Business Change Delivery, Finance, HQ, Supplier Mgmt, the IS Leadership Team(s) and others as needed.

 

 

Knowledge, experience & capabilities –

 

Critical Knowledge:

 

Bachelor’s degree required.  Strong background in one or more of: Financial / Budget processes; supplier management, project or IS investment analysis and prioritization.

 

Critical Skills: 

 

· Financial skills

· Negotiation skills

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Realtionship management skills

Critical Experience:

 Understanding of IS accounting or finance – or - managing large departmental budgetsUnderstanding of IS portfolio management is a plusUnderstanding of IS supplier management processes is a plusStrong understanding or experience successfully developing and managing internal and external relationshipsExposure to external commercial relationships as part of a selling or purchasing function
