Plant Health Care Specialist

We are recruiting  Plant Health Care Specialists to work on amazing properties, sprawling estates and beautiful campuses for our Springfield, VA.location . You will work for a company where implementing the latest technology for diagnosis and treatment is an everyday occurrence.




Your responsibilities will include:
* The care and development of trees, ornamental plants and lawns on client landscapes
* Monitor, diagnose and treat insect, disease, physiological and cultural conditions
* Select the most appropriate product or treatment to be utilized for each problem
* Complete diagnostic reports, interact with clients in a professional manner, and provide comprehensive, thorough information to create an ideal environment for optimum health of landscapes.
* Maintain excellent customer relations




The Ideal Candidate will have:
1 Pesticide Applicator's License or the ability to obtain one
2. Degree in Plant Science, Horticulture, Arboriculture, Forestry, Biology, Plant Pathology or Plant Physiology
3. Knowledge of tree & shrub species adapted to temperate zones 4 and 6 and native to Eastern U.S.(i.e. Red Maple, Sugar Maple, Hemlock, White Pine, Birch)
4. Ability to diagnose problems that are physiologically based and/or stress related; anticipate what will occur under specific conditions (i.e. soil conditions, climate); identify stresses and proactively implement solutions
5. Must be able to work independently and be self-directed.
6. Excellent communication skills and willingness to interact graciously with the general public, especially with individuals who are "environmentally aware".
7. Exceptional POSITIVE "CAN DO" attitude!

8. CDL license class B or the ability to obtain one
