Payroll Supervisor

Position Summary:  The Payroll supervisor will also be responsible for day to day running for the biweekly and weekly payroll process. Training of new payroll specialist and on going support and training payroll specialist. Help the tax specialist with questions on federal and state tax withholding and unemployment returns.  The payroll Supervisor will also provide support to the Payroll Manager



 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

 Over see input process of time sheets into payroll systemOver see input W-4 and Tax changes, Direct Deposits, Garnishments, and General Deductions.Review error reports and make corrections as necessary.Verify Batches for accuracy.Review Payroll Registers and other payroll reports, for reasonableness Manage current Garnishment, Child Support, Tax Levy’s, and Bankruptcy orders.Run reports as needed by mgt or HR.Research payroll errors to general ledger as requested.  Answer telephone inquires.Monitor handcheck by online check process.Monitor stop payments void checks and ACH reversal.Support tax specialist - multi-state tax returns withholding and unemploymentOther duties assigned.

 

Qualifications:Associates Degree – in related field or equivalent experience5 + Payroll experienceSolid computer/analytical skillsSAP experience (desired)Payroll Tax experience (required)
