Maintenance Team Development Manager

This position is for Weyerhaeuser's Liquid Packaging Board business, which produces bleached paperboard used to make cartons and cups for liquids such as milk, juice, coffee and sake under the brand name Structure-Pak. This business produces 260,000 metric tons of paperboard each year -- the equivalent of 6 billion liter-sized milk cartons. This facility began operations in Longview, WA in 1953 and employs about 500 people. Develops the capability of maintenance teams to achieve business results (safety, reliability, cost, quality) and satisfy customer requirements. Provides team and individual feedback, coaching and discipline. Assesses and coordinates development of skills. Supports facilitation of team and safety meetings. Ensures team members understand and meet customer expectations. Facilitates resolution of team member conflicts. Promotes development and compliance with safe work practices. Coordinates and plans maintenance work to ensure maximum reliability of all equipment, considering safety, financial constraints, trade skills, lead times, and special equipment and repair procedures. Maintain and improve the preventive/predictive maintenance system and follow-up to ensure safe, timely and satisfactory completion of mechanical maintenance work. Participate in maintenance budgeting and department strategic business plan. Inspect repairs/modifications and observe test runs to ensure safe, reliable operations.  Performs administrative duties such as preparing appropriate reports for equipment/machinery and maintaining accurate payroll records.Minimum of five (5) years industrial maintenance experience. Knowledge of industrial safety procedures and OSHA regulations. Trades qualifications in related trade such as millwright or electrical/instrumentation - an electrical or mechanical engineering degree. Familiarity with managing the maintenance of a large fleet of mobile equipment ranging from grab trucks/light vehicles to heavy equipment utilized in the pulp & paper industry is plus.  Computer knowledge in Preventative/Predictive maintenance (SAP knowledge preferred). Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret drawings, prepare estimates for time and materials, coordinate activities of various trades. Ability to track/measure performance utilizing Total Quality methods/tools.  Excellent planning and organizing abilities. High degree of initiative, motivation and innovation. Exceptional communication skills: written, oral, and listening. Ability to lead problem solving, analyze results of maintenance repairs to ensure objectives are met in a group/team environment.
