Weyerhaeuser is an Equal Opportunity Employer building a capable, committed, diverse workforce. This is a Human Resource Manager position directly supporting the iLevel lumber and veneer operations in Pine Hill, AL employing approximately 300 people in a non-traditional, team oriented work system which are represented by the Steel Workers Union. This position reports to the Gulf South Human Resource Manager. Key Functions: The Pine Hill HR manager delivers value-added human resource services, labor relations support, support of our Weyerhaeuser Roadmap initiatives and HR leadership. Responsibilities may include: Provide support in functional areas of HR such as compensation, benefits, job evaluations, training, AAP/EEO, supervisor training, performance management processes, change management, climate survey/improvement and employment law. Serve as a business partner and active member of the facility management teams representing the HR function. Active member of the Gulf-South Region HR team providing input on a wide variety of HR topics, sharing and duplicating best practices including flow-to-work as needed. Support and coach leaders in a wide variety of HR activities (e.g., discipline, recruiting, labor/employee relations, etc.). Understand, interpret and communicate HR Standards to managers and employees. Understand, interpret and ensure consistent application of the labor agreement within two separate business units. Leverage Weyerhaeuser Center of Expertise tools and processes to deliver improved business results. Participate in the development of succession plans and brokering developmental activities. Internal investigator and mediator regarding employee complaints. Manage/facilitate the internal and external recruiting and staffing process. Utilize the human resource information system (PeopleSoft) to analyze HR data.  Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field or equivalent related work experience.  Professional or Senior Professional HR certification a plus Five plus years of professional HR work experience, in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge and experience in labor relations Knowledge and experience with non-traditional, team oriented work systems Experienced in managing employee relations and issue resolution. Knowledgeable in each of the following areas:  recruiting and staffing, benefits, compensation, organization development, human resource management systems, training, and federal/state employment law. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong facilitation and coaching skills. Strong presentation skills.  Extremely self motivated and self-confident. Ability to work independently or collaborate based on the nature and opportunity of the task. Demonstrated ability to understand the critical linkage between HR systems and field operations. Work well independently in a fast-paced environment; be well organized and able to work simultaneously on multiple priorities. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Strong customer service skills. Ability to work closely with plant management to jointly identify and deliver HR strategy and services. Ability to work with employees in a caring, thoughtful and professional manner. Prior PeopleSoft work experience a plus.
