Finance Manager

Overview:

The Finance Manager is responsible for administering the credit, counterparty risk, and accounts receivable processes of Bunge Latin America. The primary goal of this position is to minimize accounts receivable and counterparty risk (both pre-delivery and post-delivery), at the same time partnering with management and traders in order to enable earnings growth at above WACC returns on capital and with acceptable risk.

 

Essential Functions:Minimize accounts receivable of the business by managing efficient, on time collections, by selling receivables to 3rd parties on a non-recourse basis via discounting/factoring, risk participation agreements, as well as other creative means.Minimize our credit and counterparty risk exposure by selling receivables to 3rd parties, as well as by coordinating appropriate one time and ongoing insurance needs.Contribute effectively to BLA and BNA special projects relating to working capital management.Collaborate effectively with customers and financial institutions in order to proactively anticipate customer financial needs and find creative solutions /products to meet those needs, while meeting our internal credit/AR goals.Evaluate credit risk of potential and current customer, factoring in known behavior (with us or other parties), understanding of the business model, financial strength, as well as political and cultural factors.Recommend credit limits for customers in accordance with the credit policies, as well as coordinate credit limit approvals and ongoing maintenance with the appropriate credit committee.Manage BLA collections and accounts receivable to minimize working capital and credit exposure, and ensure on time, accurate, and effective reporting of exposure to management and traders.Work with the traders and the execution / logistics teams to ensure credit limits and controls are effectively maintained.Ensure monthly reconciliation of exposure, receivables reporting with figures in the financial system (SAP).

· Implement effective one time and ongoing insurance solutions to manage risk, including effectively coordinating with insurance groups in various corporate offices.

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, international business, or related subject required; master's degree strongly preferredFour to Six years experience in credit analysis and risk management, working with companies in emerging marketsDirect experience in drafting and executing factoring, discounting, risk participation agreements, and other structured risk management transactionsStrong financial analysis backgroundFamiliarity with financial risk management products in the banking industryIn depth knowledge and understanding of the social, political, and economic environment of Latin AmericaEntrepreneurial approach to risk management, in proactive collaboration with management and the commercial teamStrong attention to detail, and ability to review, analyze and coordinate drafting and modification of legal agreements covering risk managementStrong interest in the Agribusiness fieldFluent in Spanish and English
