Executive Assistant

Walco International, Inc. a member of the Animal Health International, Inc. family of companies seeks to fill the position of Executive Assistant. Located at our Home Offices in Westlake, Texas, the well qualified individual will support the Chairman/President/CEO.

The ideal candidate will exude professionalism in appearance, verbal and written communication.  You will be responsible for diverse and complex assignments that require tact, discretion, independent judgment and action.  This position interfaces regularly with the Executive Team, Board of Directors and Group Presidents; therefore must balance assertive confidence with a pleasant demeanor. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

•Uses considerable independent judgment and initiative to determine the approach or action to take in non-routine situations.

•Interprets and adapts guidelines, including unwritten policies, precedents, and practices, that are not always completely applicable to changing situations.

•Anticipates and prepares materials needed by the executive for conferences, correspondence, appointments, meetings, telephone calls, etc.

•In executive’s absence, ensures that requests for action or information are relayed to the appropriate staff member.

•As needed, interprets request, helps implement action, and decides whether executive should be notified of important or emergency matters.

•Assists executive with administrative details, usually of a confidential nature.

•Prepares reports including conclusions and recommendations for solution of operational and administrative issues.

•Home office point of contact for Field Executive Management.

•Mentors company wide administrative support.

•Coordinates travel arrangements and manages calendar and appointment schedules for executives.

•Plans conferences and meetings (customer outing, annual incentives trip and aids in National Sales Meeting).

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
In order to be successful in this position, you must have:

•A college degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

•Must have a minimum of three years experience supporting C-level management.

•Ability work both independently and as a team player.

•Strong critical thinking skills.

•Maintain integrity and discretion in dealing with confidential matters.

•Excellent written and oral communication skills.

•Excellent time-management and organizational skills.

•Advanced working knowledge of Word, Excel, & Power Point.
