Clariant is looking for a highly motivated individual to fill a Crop Protection Technical Service Manager position at its Mt. Holly, NC facility.
Key Responsibilities:
a) Direct the activities of the NA Crop Protection lab, managing a project database for both regional and global review, outlining all projects underway in the NA labs. With input from Business Manager, Crop Protection, set the appropriate priorities for all projects and allocate resources as needed.
b) Establish a direct relationship with the key technical personnel at regional Crop Protection accounts. This direct relationship includes cost efficient personal visits 1-4 times annually to each account based on account characteristics and requirements as outlined by the Business Manager. Visits would include technical presentations, project reviews, and identification of new potential customer needs coupled with frequent verbal dialog as needed to support current business and projects.
c) Assume primary responsibility for new product introduction including lab preparation in the CP lab, assistance to the lab alkoxylation function as requested, PPP completion, monitoring progress through the pilot plant, and arranging for the provision of necessary information for SAP introduction.
d) Assume primary responsibility for fielding all calls from customers pertaining to regulatory compliance, inert status, and other technical inquiries as necessary.
e) Maintain contact with trade groups, prepare articles/advertisements for industry magazines, organize the preparation for trade shows and customer visits and keep all technical presentations and documents current.
f) Maintain ongoing dialog and project coordination as needed with other Crop technical personnel, both global and regional.
Applicants must have the following:
BS degree in chemistry, bio-chemistry, or related field.Minimum 3 – 5 years experience formulating surfactant and adjuvant packages for herbicide, fungicide, and pesticide formulations.Experience in the safe handling of herbicide, fungicide, and pesticide actives.Experience working with external customers strongly preferred.Knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting crop protection formulations.Excellent oral and written communication skills.SAP experience preferred.
