AGRICULTURALISTCrop Adviser/Agricultural Specialist Provides technical expertise to growers in the production and harvest of a high quality sugarbeet crop with minimal production costs. · Maintains Grower Practice System by recording activities relative to each field and makes timely and accurate recommendations to growers to improve the profitability of their crop through the use of fertilizer, seed varieties, herbicides, and pesticides. Assists in the implementation of new technology, where appropriate, in crop production. · Maintains current knowledge of new research and technological changes in the field of sugarbeet agriculture. Provides information to growers through personal contacts and group meetings. Attends industry-related agricultural meetings held in the district to obtain new information. · Makes recommendations on beet seed variety selections to growers based on individual needs and seed varieties available. · Assists growers with harvest equipment and improved harvest techniques to maximize sugar recovery per acre. · Prepares stock transfer applications and forwards to the Agronomy Manager for initial approval.
