Bulk Logistics Manager

BCS is structured into six Business Operations units: four regional crop protection units and two units responsible for Environmental Science and BioScience – offering an outstanding range of products and extensive service backup for modern, sustainable agriculture as well as for non-agricultural applications.ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibility of this role is to manage the distribution of bulk finished goods and raw materials across the US including storage, transportation, equipment specifications and regulatory compliance.The incumbent will: -Develop and implement a bulk material handling infrastructure to ensure safe and timely storage and distribution of bulk materials in line with agreed to customer service levels; -Ensure regulatory compliance with DOT, EPA and Bayer CropScience Product Stewardship guidelines / regulations; -Manage and maintain the customer bulk storage site inspections under the AASA guidelines, such that all site are compliant before products are shipped; -Maintain EPA Refill agreements for all bulk customers in Bayer CropScience’s contract management tool (eFilia); -Develop / implement specifications for Bulk Handling, Storage, Transportation and intermediate bulk containers (IBC’s); -Manage labeling required at all levels of the distribution channel as required by regulatory agencies; -Assist in negotiation of tank truck and rail freight rates as required to meet business objectives;-Manage the safe and efficient transport of Aldisol bulk between Institute, WV and Woodbine, GA including driver training, route and equipment safety, DOT compliance, equipment certification and emergency response. QualificationsThe selected candidate will possess: -Bachelor’s degree in Transportation/Logistics or Science or related field;-Minimum of 10 years of experience in an integrated manufacturing or distribution organization;-Demonstrated negotiation skills;-An in-depth technical knowledge of bulk transportation and storage systems;-An in-depth knowledge of DOT, and bulk related EPA regulations.Bayer Benefits We offer a wide variety of competitive compensation and benefit programs.
