BOILER Engineer

 

 

Primary Function:

Optimize the safe production of steam and electricity through application of engineering expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Assess power plant performance and develop engineering solutions to maximize the safe and efficient production of steam and electricity.
• Implement capital improvement and maintenance and repair projects from inception to completion.
• Provide supervision / management relief.
• Train supervisors, craftsmen and operators in the maintenance and operation of boilers, turbo-generators and ancillary equipment.

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Marine or Electrical Engineering.
• Familiar with a wide variety of power generation concepts, practices and procedures.
• 5-8+ years of experience in power generation operation. Solid fuel experience desired.
• Project management skills.
• Ability to apply advanced engineering principles to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Leadership skills including the ability to coach, mentor and train supervisors and bargaining unit employees.
• Supervisory experience a plus.
