WSOPS Engineering Technical Lead - GMD Program Position Description The Weapon System Operations and Support (WSOPS) Integration Technical Lead is responsible for the integration, coordination, and evaluation of all site activation, operations and sustainment activities necessary to support program level events. This position will champion horizontal integration across the major WSOPS functional areas as well as internally by facilitating daily communications related to technical integrity, program schedule and major issues and roadblocks and will represent WSOPS in senior-level technical and schedule review forums. This position will track, analyze and evaluate the necessary resources required for the WSOPS Group and advise senior management of potential problems, related solutions and risk assessments in order to ensure mission and program success. The responsibilities of this position require ensuring the engineering integrity of all WSOPS changes, technical assessments, and work processes. The position will chair the WSOPS Technical Review, Engineering Review, and Change Boards. The position will maintain daily status of program events and provide clear communication to the WSOPS Team and Program senior management. Required: Proven leadership skills, short- and long-term planning and problem solving skills. Experience in missile defense or military systems. Previous leadership experience. Experience in Department of Defense (DoD) programs. Proven oral and communication skills. Experience working with war fighter/operational community. Desired: Experience with complex hardware/software integration and test. Apply knowledge of program planning tools (e.g., cost/schedule/analysis) to develop and implement integrated program plans and schedules. Apply knowledge of program management methods (e.g., network diagramming, problem resolution, earned value) to resolve program conflict and risk and to ensure on-time, on-cost delivery of a technically acceptable product or service. Builds long-term relationships with internal and external customers by understanding their current and future needs; meeting commitments to customers on time and keeping them informed; seeks and uses customer feedback. The ability to plan and organize time to work both productively and efficiently as well as maximize the quantity and quality of work. Ability to set priorities, determines long term vs. short term priorities, and complete assigned tasks within schedule constraints. [ + ] Integrated Systems Basic - Advanced/expert knowledge of design, improvement, and installation of integrated systems of people, materials, equipment, and methods. Preferred -Highly advanced/expert knowledge of engineering analysis (e.g. mechanical, electrical, avionics, design, circuit, systems, stress, structural, durability). Education and/or Experience Level 5 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 6 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 20 or more years' experience, Master's with 18 or more years' experience or PhD with 15 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
