Verification Engineer

Schafer is currently seeking a Verification Engineer to provide systems engineering and subject matter expertise to the Systems Verification team, a sub-element of the Requirements and Verification team of the Systems Engineering and Integration product team on the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program.

 

 

This position is responsible for: Providing support in development of processes, procedures, and planning to execute verification activities of the GMD European Capability. Within the GMD European Capability framework, assisting in the development of Verification Cross Reference Matrices and Verification Summary Sheets. Coordinating issues in requirements found in the GMD Capabilities Documents, the several Interface Control Specifications and the Interface Design Documents. Conducting verification of requirements and developing Verification Closure Notices. Preparing, coordinating, and presenting briefing materials at Systems Requirements Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, and other program reviews as required. Coordinating Test Requirements and Verification Event Matrices.  The Verification Engineer may also serve as a representative of the Requirements and Verification Team on engineering review boards, installation and check out review teams and other forums as required.

This position interacts on a daily basis with our customer, and prepares and presents presentations on technical findings as well as providing additional technical support to programs.

The following knowledge skills and attributes are required: This position requires 3 or more years technical experience and a Bachelor's degree preferably in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, aerospace), Math, or Science (e.g. physics). Current knowledge of the GMD system and components preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Security clearance required. Prior military experience useful.
