VOIP Engineer
This position is located in our VA, Arlington facilityExciting opportunity for an experienced VOIP Engineer to join a Top-Tier Systems Integrator at one of the most technologically advanced locations in the DoD - the Pentagon. This is a rare opportunity to join the team supporting this dynamic and complex network and provide cutting edge installation and support for a Nortel VOIP solution.The successful candidate will be instrumental in the design and implementation of VoIP for DoD customers at the Pentagon and will provide interactive network support to meet growth, service and reliability requirements. The candidate will assist in the network architecture and planning team and provide technical expertise on topologies and interconnectivity to the various distribution and access layer devices on and off the Pentagon campus. The ideal candidate for this position should be an expert in the full range of network technologies which includes LAN, MAN and WAN networks. The successful candidate must have senior level experience working in a mission critical 24x7/365, multi-protocol and vendor environment. The candidate must be able to function effectively in time sensitive situations as well as present ideas and plans in an open forum. Experience with IP Telephony/Broadband Phone/VoIP, specifically SIP based, products and service is a must. Quantifiable experience with Nortel as well as legacy voice implementations. Experience in PBX and/or Call Center Systems engineering. Knowledgeable in voice mail, unified messaging, ACD and IVR systems. Experience planning and implementing LANs and WANs using the latest technology. Strong background in designing computer networks and topology. Strong skill set and experience in routing/switching. Strong knowledge of QOS and traffic engineering. Requires BS/BA degree. Work experience may be substituted for degree.Requires 8-10 years experience.* Vendor certifications from Nortel, such as Nortel "CS 1000 Installation specialist" certification is a plus. * Experience with Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting Nortel equipment. * 3+ years experience with the NORTEL Succession and CS1000 products.Submit Your Resume Online Now
