Technical Support Engineer II

Job Description: In this position you will work with engineering concepts, sketches, engineering release records (ERR), and engineering change proposals (ECP) to determine design changes for military transports and associated electronic devices, and output those changes in computer-aided design (CAD) drawings for the PATRIOT missile systems. The end product will be the constructing and modifying technical data packages (TDP). Proficiency in other computer CAD software will be considered. Required Skills: To be successful in this position requires proficiency in the following areas of technical expertise: -Competent computer skills are a must with emphasis on 2D Micro Station V5 and 3D Solid Works 2007 for final output documentation and archiving. -Must have full understanding and have worked with military specifications and standards, primarily MIL STD ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5M-1994, pertaining to fabrication and formatting of military drawings. -Full understanding of government standards involving the system governing engineering release records (ERR) and engineering change proposals (ECP). -Able to communicate with engineers, programmers, technical writers, computer software developers, U.S. Army personnel and DOD civilian personnel. -Minimum of 5 years related experience. -Must be able to obtain a US Secret clearance. An existing Secret clearance is strongly preferred. Desired Skills: You should have competent working knowledge of Government equipment with emphasis on PATRIOT end-items and associated systems. A good working knowledge of the composition of Government publications and the military standards governing them with emphasis on Army Technical Manuals is highly desired. Required Education: A Bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, or related field is preferred, plus five years experience working with government technical data packages (TDP). Additional experience in engineering design or engineering/mechanical drafting may substitute for the degree.
