Team Leader, Voice and Data Communications

This important position evaluates, plans, organizes, and directs all activities for personal computer and local area network support and services, and voice and data services to ensure effective and efficient support for all CS Fort Wayne functional areas.Are you looking for a rewarding and challenging position in a technical field that is focused on leading a team in network engineering, architecture, and design for both voice and data communications? The ideal candidate for this position will provide leadership in evaluating, planning, organizing, and directing all activities for the design and support of metropolitan area network and local area network services, including building cabling and wiring infrastructure supporting the business voice and data services and design, and support of the Cisco UCM IP telephony and video conferencing infrastructure. Additionally, this position will be responsible for coordination of wide area network support and services for all CS facilities. All areas of responsibility require conformance with legal obligations, federal regulatory commissions and agencies, and/or local building compliance codes. Equivalent Education Level Required -- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or similar with multiple professional certifications relating to voice and data networking technologies. VBSS Green Belt certification preferred.Experience Required -- 6-10 years of Networking and telecommunications experience. Includes 5 years networking design, implementation and operations experience in enterprise organization. Knowledge Required -- Demonstrate leadership ability, in-depth technical experience/understanding, strong team building and mentoring skills, outstanding communication, and strong interpersonal and customer relationship management skills.Extensive understanding and experience working with Cisco IOS, IP Telephony, QOS, and LAN/MAN/WAN routing protocols as well as understanding of VoIP technology. Ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues. Understands information security in an enterprise environment as it relates to networking. Understands the proper implementation of IP and associated protocols (TCP, UDP, ICMP). Advanced and comprehensive background in technologies available to enhance employee productivity. Broad understanding in applying technological solutions to business needs. Extensive knowledge base in technology enhancements for cost effective voice, data, local area network, and video technology implementation.Exhibits the ability to recognize present and potential risks, assess the probability and impact and arrive at an effective remediation plan.
