Tax Manager*
Description
Position: Tax Manager
Management position reporting to the VP Treasurer for an award winning aviation manufacturer that is in the business of designing, certifying and producing modern, affordable jet aircraft. As a key member of the management team the Tax Manager is responsible for managing tax issues and planning as the company expands its operations and business.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Develop and manage income and other tax planning strategies, including state and local incentives in multiple states
· Manage and monitor sales and use tax processes and procedures
· Responsible for all tax returns, filings, and other regulatory reports, including income taxes, franchise taxes, property taxes, sales and use taxes, state tax credit filings, Industrial Revenue Bond reporting, and other federal and state reports as needed.
· Provide assistance and advice to payroll function regarding payroll taxes as necessary
· Responsible for tax accruals
· Manage outside accounting firm providing tax assistance
· Responsible for all tax related entries and reconciliations
· Manage fixed assets and lease accounting and close processes
· Manage several insurance policies for the company
· Provide business counsel to other Eclipse organizations
· Other projects or duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or taxation
· CPA
· 5 years of tax experience
· Supervisory experience
· Demonstrated experience developing and documenting cross-functional tax reporting processes
· Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Experienced Excel user with ability to utilize pivot tables and other advanced functions
Preferred Qualifications:
· MBA
· Experience implementing or converting transaction tax systems
· Broad based experience in finance and accounting
· Aviation industry experience
· Experience implementing Sarbanes Oxley processes and internal controls
· Process training and certifications a plus
Skills/Abilities:
· Ability to analyze complex financing, sales, and purchase transactions and contracts and develop sound tax strategies
· Must be a self-starter, possessing the ability to succeed in an ambiguous, fast paced, rapidly evolving work environment
· Well organized and flexible with the ability to prioritize conflicting demands and work independently
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle disagreements tactfully
· Ability to negotiate win-win solutions
· Verbal communication - Able to effectively communicate and interact with team members, customers and suppliers at all organizational levels, using tact and diplomacy
· Excellent writing skills
