Systems Test Engineer (GEM) Engineer - NTB (08-033) Position Description As a member of the National team 'B', the Test Engineer will work with other team members to generate UML artifacts, algorithms and MATLAB translations for the C2BMCs Global Engagement Manager (GEM) product. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Works under consultative direction. --------------------Technical Competencies------------------------------------------------- The candidate must possess the ability to learn new domain information; to apply the new information and to use innovation and new technologies. Candidate must be self-motivated. The Test Engineer must be experienced with implementing algorithm specifications in Java and MATLAB; comprehending orbital mechanics and computational techniques; and using Object Oriented software development practices in an Agile environment. The candidate needs at least 12 years experience in software system engineering with various roles in software design and development; architecting, designing, and implementing large scale software systems. Previous Model Driven Architecture experience is a plus. Missile Defense Domain knowledge a plus. The Test Engineer must have a good understanding of software design principles, software development practices and UML design specifications. The candidate will also need to be skilled in understanding and implementing scientific application algorithms and runtime simulation development. Languages required: Java, MATLAB, UML 2.0. Tools required: Eclipse, MATLAB. Candidate must possess a current DoD SECRET clearance, a TOP SECRET clearance is a plus. [ + ] Integrated Systems Advanced/expert knowledge of design, improvement, and installation of integrated systems of people, materials, equipment, and methods. Education and/or Experience Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
