That's why we're here. Systems Engineer Support Analyst 5 Position Description Lead a team of engineers that analyze complex networks and optimize test message traffic. Responsible for the design optimization, implementation, and troubleshooting of UNIX and Windows platforms, operating environments and complex communication systems. Experience with network protocols (WAN and LAN), UNIX, and Window based systems. Design, install and maintain network and communication equipment used to support simulation labs. Knowledge of CISCO switch configurations, operations and troubleshooting. Understanding of network topologies, protocols, and performance management techniques. Develop engineering processes and procedures and drawing standards. Present engineering changes to a formal board and implement approved changes. Document all designs using formal drawings. Experience with MRB and nonconformance documentation desired. [ + ] Project Management Recognized enterprise experience in creating comprehensive multi-tiered project schedules for significant organization, enterprise and business unit projects identifying time frames for key project milestones and ensure alignment of sub tier activities for overall project visibility, tracking and completion. Directs and manages more complex project schedules requiring interfacing with multi regional or international activities. Independently identifies project resource requirements, integrates and directs multi project elements into a single collective overall project plan. Collaborates with others on the most complex projects assigned. As an enterprise role model demonstrates ability to direct, delegate and ensure performance of assigned responsibilities and tasks as a project team leader in support of enterprise wide or extremely complex large-scale projects. Identifies and resolves any issues to ensure the successful completion of the project. [ + ] Engineering Processes Advanced/expert knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Engineering departments/disciplines (e.g., design, test, software, technology, avionics). Advanced/expert knowledge of the interaction between departments/ disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-engineering processes (e.g., Operations, Logistics, Business). [ + ] Information Technology Fluency Advanced/expert level of understanding and proficiency in the use of networking computing hardware and software applications. Advanced/expert knowledge of processes and tools to maintain, archive, and retrieve digital files. Advanced/expert ability in providing project information, such as, statements of work, resource identification and usage, task status, cost estimating and tracking, etc. Advanced/expert ability around constructing/building and providing reports and presentation material as needed for assigned projects. Advanced/expert knowledge of identifying and gaining approval of testing of established applications to meet project requirements. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
