Systems Engineer - Reliability and Maintainability
This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned DescriptionThe incumbent will be solely focused on performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. General Responsibilities Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Implementing & maintain a Reliability, Availability & Maintainability Engineering Program, ensuring RAM principles are applied concurrent with VH-71 system engineering design, development, testing, certification, qualification, and production activities. Develop & maintain a Reliability & Maintainability Plan, reliability block diagrams, R&M predictions and a Reliability Growth & Corrective Action Reporting system. Develop & maintain R&M allocations between aircraft subsystems and between aircraft & ground systems. Maintain close coordination & cooperation with Design Engineering, Human Factors, Supportability and System Safety program elements and with Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Navy. Minimum Qualifications BA/BS in appropriate Engineering specialty Minimum Five (5) years of Engineering background in area of expertise and experience in helicopter technology. Minimum Five (5) years in area of expertise in support of major DoD programs/projects Available and willing to travel to Lockheed, US Navy and major subcontractor sites, including overseas travel. Familiarity with reliability analysis techniques for mission & logistics support, Production Reliability Acceptance Testing (PRAT), Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Failure Reporting and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS). Desired Skills Graduate Degree Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated capability in program management Experience in a senior level leadership role with the Dod or as a DoD contractor For T&E – Graduate of flight test training program (DoD or other)Security Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified material.
