Belvoir, VA. Here are a few more details about the open position:Job Title: Systems EngineerSupporting: Technologies Solutions & ServicesTechnologies Solutions & Services of BAE Systems Inc. provides a full spectrum of systems engineering, technical services and ordnance systems to our customers in disciplines essential for successful systems development, operation, and maintenance. Our full life-cycle systems capabilities include system design, integration and test, software development engineering, and maintenance and integrated logistics support. Position Details:Provides technical support to the Nuclear Capabilities Services project, an effort which refactors legacy/existing nuclear models into a modern software framework and integrates them into DTRA's net-centric enterprise architecture. Monitors contract performance and provides IT technical support as required. Assists contractors and NT technical staff in developing architecture that supports integration of a number of nuclear weapons effects capabilities in the form of stand-alone codesor specially developed effects modules, and integrates High Performance Computing (HPC)-based codes within the architecture. Assists in development of user interfaces. Develops technical milestones and objectives that will assist program managers in meeting program goals. Assists in development of Verification, Validation, and Accreditation (VV&A) methodology, facilitates the VV&A process, and provides SME review of codes IAW the DTRA NT Accreditation process. Qualifications: Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or related scientific field, with a minimum of 10 years experience in the nuclear weapon effects and/or software integration technical areas. VV&A experience is essential. DoD contract acquisition and management experience is essential. Experience in design or execution of high-performance computing applications/codes/systems is essential. Experience in large scale software systems-of-systems integration is highly desired. Applicant must have nuclear effects code experience, or a demonstrated ability to quickly develop the necessary understanding to apply modeling tools. Applicant must have outstanding analytical, writing, and speaking skills. Work will be performed at Ft Belvoir, VA. Approximately 5-10% of time will be spent TDY, mostly in the USA. Occasional travel overseas may be required. Secret clearance required; Top Secret - SCI desired.
