Systems/Electrical Engineer
Location: Aurora, Illinois
Gentex, an internationally recognized leader in the design and manufacture of sophisticated military life support systems, has an immediate opening for a Systems / Electrical Engineer.
The successful candidate must possess a B.S. in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with an M.S. in Engineering, a plus. This position calls for a minimum of ten years in Systems, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering experience. This position also requires skill in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
The Systems / Electrical Engineer will:
Be responsible for the integration and sub-contact management of a number of elements within electro-optical systems being developed in the Aerospace industry. Be required to perform systems integration, verification and validation, technical planning, cost/risk/supportability and effectiveness analysis for display systems and avionics. Perform functional analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Lead writing and costing design sections of proposals. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. Lead research that tests, analyzes and evaluates the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components, materials, and systems. Confer with user community, teaming partners, subcontractors, project engineers, designers, manufacturing and other program personnel to provide technical direction, oversight, and information. Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. Lead the design, development, integration, test, operation, maintenance, and repair efforts to ensure that equipment is functioning according to specifications. Write performance requirements for product development or engineering projects and apply engineering principles and practices to emerging fields, such as nanotechnology, and electro-optics.
