Systems Analyst/Systems Engineer Description:Job Description: Systems Analyst/Engineer to support requirements development, system design, and assessment of security systems for force protection of naval systems and units.Duties: Provide technical contributions to projects involved in protection of critical assets in or near military ports. These contributions include but not exclusive to: problem definition, requirements development, system design and assessment, test and evaluation including directing field tests and analyzing results. Desire a systems engineering or systems analysis approach towards these projects. Analyze operational concepts for Undersea Warfare platforms and sensor systems. Develop and assess tactical and operational performance metrics. Perform assessments of candidate countermeasures to address asset vulnerabilities. Evaluate such factors as countermeasure performance, logistic requirements, costs, operational impacts and potential concepts of operations. Liaise with DoD personnel and sponsors to determine tasking priorities, respond to inquiries, etc. Organize and/or participate in related working groups and task forces. Assist the Program and Project Managers in documenting and presenting results to Navy operational commands and organizations, APL managers and sponsors.Qualifications:Required: BS/MS in Engineering, Math, or Physics. Strong analytical, operational, problem-solving and organizational skills. Must be technically and analytically oriented. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in interacting with Navy/DoD personnel. Demonstrated initiative, motivation, flexibility and interest in working in a team environment. Ability and willingness to travel (i.e.; 1-2 day trips twice per month and occasional week long tests). Must be eligible for DOD clearance requiring background investigation and/or polygraph examination. Desired: Desire systems engineering degree or education in this field with approximately five years of application of systems analysis/engineering work. Experience with requirements analysis/documentation and test plan development/evaluation also desired. Prior experience working with or for the sea services (e.g., Navy or Coast Guard). Experience performing operational assessments. Knowledge of or background in Undersea Warfare.
