Supervisor, Technical Maintenance & Support
InTranS Group, a major Intelligent Transportation Systems Integrator is seeking a talented, multi-faceted individual to join our Field Maintenance and Support Team in the capacity of Technical Maintenance & Support Supervisor.

The ideal candidate for this position will lead a team of on-site maintenance technicians and manage the ongoing support and maintenance of InTranS Toll and Revenue Management Systems. Reporting directly to the maintenance & support project manager in Long Island, NY, the field supervisor will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance services, customer liaison, technician productivity, forecasting maintenance needs, spare part, tools, safety and training requirements for site personnel. In addition, the on-site supervisor will apply a broad working knowledge of electronics & mechanics to a wide variety of assignments through the application of technical concepts, practices and procedures. The position requires a fully qualified senior technician, who will manage a team of field technicians that service complex electro-mechanical and electronic equipment subject to critical response/repair-time deadlines. The qualified applicant will also possess the skills to troubleshoot hardware/software equipment malfunctions, and to set up, install, configure, maintain, relocate, and/or repair a variety of equipment including electrical, mechanical, communications and electronic equipment, software and/or peripherals used in our Toll and Revenue Management Systems. Candidate must be willing to work in an indoor / outdoor environment.
The ideal candidate must be a responsible, reliable technical professional that will:Represent InTranS as the Team Supervisor and be the catalyst for technical maintenance and support services provided at the project site;Schedule, monitor and forecast work orders for preventive and corrective maintenance services of electronic toll collection equipment;Dispatch and manage technical personnel for scheduled and on-call shifts;Manage sub-contracted provision of services to install, maintain or repair equipment;Assist in the provision of training for personnel and end-users as needed;Ensure a optimal response time for all maintenance services rendered, including on-call and after hours support;Manage and perform routine duties in the electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, or optical areas;Possess a high level understanding of software/hardware products functionality to maintain equipment in an optimal operational state;Have the ability to calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain electronic and elctro-mechanical equipment, components, devices, or systems;Manage technician response to trouble calls within a pre-defined time when working an on-call shift;Maintain adequate inventories of spare and replacement parts and components through established means of acquisition;Prepare and maintain records through a maintenance work order and help desk system and report on data related to the work performed and inventory used;Attend meetings and provide information related to the site installation including resolving problems, handling complaints and providing technical and managerial expertise in assigned area.Internal/external communication with SMEs as well as research of technical material sources to develop a familiarity with product technologies;Understand the technologies, equipment and market serviced;Maintaining constantly high qualitative and quantitative standards to ensure that quality services are provided;Possess excellent time and people management skills and be flexible with time and work schedule;Have a willingness to share knowledge.
Education / Experience
Education: Qualified candidates should have a bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent work experience – vocational, trade school, or military technical training plus 3-5 years progressively responsible experience, demonstrating familiarity with a broad range of electronic, electro-mechanical equipment and systems (Video Component, CCTV experience, traffic control systems, radar, aerospace / aircraft equipment).
Experience: a minimum of 3 years related experience; 3+ years of electronic and electro-mechanical maintenance experience.Manage a team of 3-5 field techniciansCustomer service skills;Experience with technical drawings, prints, writing;Excellent verbal and written communication skills;Strong working knowledge of computer & networking systems, electronic and electro-magnetic components are a must;A working knowledge of toll equipment and revenue management;Ability to use hand/power tools, multi-meters and other monitoring tools, research technical manuals;Perform preventive & corrective maintenance, replacement & repair of components and complex assemblies, peripherals and associated/designated communications and information management equipment;Completing work orders/service calls to install, maintain and/or repairs traffic loops, cameras, video systems, computer equipment and peripherals;Maintain technical records, schematics and diagrams;Assist in providing training to other technicians and end-users;Be willing to travel occasionally on a temporary basis to other project sites to assist with managing installation and support services.
