Description of Work: -Assist lead engineers on the design of structures and appendages for various military vehicle platforms -Interface with integrated product teams as required during the design process -Assist drafting layout designers and detailers to develop a detailed technical data package -Assist lead engineers on the problem resolution of field, logistic and manufacturing issues -Prepare engineering rework instructions for field retrofit -Work with the prototype shop on the fabrication and validation of prototype structures and appendages -Develop engineering design concepts via PRO:E software and coordinate related stress analysis verification -Develop preliminary FEA models and run optimization studies -Present design concepts and program status to the customer and IPT members -Provide status to functional and program management an assigned tasks as requiredJob Requirements: -Background in PRO:E, Geometric tolerancing and dimensioning, Microsoft Office Applications, Stress Analysis methods should be required -Must be able to obtain a US Secret Clearance and meet ASR requirements to work inside of military vehicles -Occasional travel and overtime required -Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required -Familiarization with ISO and CMMIRequired Education: BSSubmit Your Resume Online NowGeneral Dynamics Land Systems is an Equal Opportunity Employer Job Title:   **Structures Engineer** Location:   Detroit Job Category:   Engineering Requisition Number:   STR-LF-08-6938 Career Level:   Experienced (Non-Manager)
